When a user is enrolled in a learning path, they may be assigned to different courses based on the language options selected in that learning path.
Learning Path Setup
The first option that affects which courses learners are assigned is the learning path default language. The default language can only be defined when creating your learning path.
Learning Path Course Setup
You can set each course in a learning path to be required for all languages by selecting the Required for All Languages checkbox.
If unselected, the course is not assigned if it does not match the learner's preferred language.
Based on the selection you have made for your learning path Courses, you may encounter one or more of these cases:
Case 1: All courses in the learning path are required for all languages
Every learner enrolled in this learning path is assigned to all of the learning path courses, regardless of their preferred language.
Case 2: Some courses in the learning path are not required for all languages
Courses in the learning path not required for all languages are assigned to learners based on their preferred language. These learners are assigned:
- all courses required for all languages
- all courses that are not required for all languages and that have the same language as their preferred language. If there are no courses in the learner's preferred language, the learner is assigned to the courses that have the learning path default language as their language.
Case 3: All courses in the learning path are not required for all languages
All learning path courses will be assigned to the learners based on their preferred language.
Learners are assigned to all courses that have the same language as their preferred language. If there are no courses in the learner's preferred language, they are assigned to the courses that have the learning path default language as their language.
Important:
You need at least one course matching the learner's preferred language or the learning path default language; otherwise, the learner is not assigned to any courses.
If a learning path is configured with a Multilanguage Setup, the title cannot be modified directly. To update the title, the Title and Description must first be removed from the Multilanguage Setup page.
