Perform an Assessment as a Manager

Managers can assess the skill of the learners under them in the organizational structure if the Academy administrator has given them the Assess Members' Performace permission.

There are two types of assessments managers can perform:

  • Manual assessment
  • Requested assessment

Both are accessed from the Team workspace in the Skills section.

Navigation: UKG Pro Learning > Team Workspace TeamSkills

Manual Assessment

A manual assessment is the type of assessment that a manager can complete at any time without a request by an administrator. This type of assessment is not required from a manager but can be completed whenever a manager wants to evaluate the learners under their organizational structure.

  1. Select Perform Assessment. All of the members under your organizational structure are displayed.
  2. Locate the learner you want to assess and select their name. You can limit the results by using the filtering options and searching users based on their job and location.
  3. Select the type of skills you want to assess using the ribbon menu. The options are:
    • Jobs Skills
    • Required Skills
    • Nonrequired Skills
    • Group Skills
  4. Locate the job, skill, or group of skills you want to assess and select New Assessment. A new section opens.
  5. Select a rating for each skill from the Assessment field drop-down list. For grouped skills, you can rate each skill individually or choose one rating for the entire skill group.
  6. (optional) Add a comment.
  7. Select Save when finished. The page will refresh and the average of all assessments for the skill is displayed.

Requested Assessment

An Academy Administrator can request you assess a learner under your organizational structure.

  1. Select Track Requests. A list of assessments requested by an administrator opens.
  2. Select the Open button for the request you are completing. A new page opens listing the learners to assess. Learners you have already assess as part of this request have Complete in the Status column.
  3. Select the arrow icon associated with a learner. The section expands and lists all the learner's skills available for assessment.
  4. Select New Assessment and a new section appears.
  5. Select a rating for each skill from the Assessment field drop-down list.
  6. (optional) Add a comment.
  7. Select Save when finished. Once you have completed the assessment of a specific skill, this skill's button is unavailable, and you will not be able to add a new assessment.
    • To update the rating, select the arrow icon, update the rating, and Save again.

When all the learner's skills are assessed, the assessment shows as complete on the previous page, and you can continue assessing any other learners in the request. Once you have completed all of the assessments in the request, the request is marked as completed.

Track Requests

If your Academy Admin has requested you to assess the users under your org structure, you can do so by navigating to the Track Requests page, under the Skills section. On this page, you can see all the requests that your admin made, their Starting Date, their Status, and if they are on time or overdue

  1. To complete an Assessment, select the Open button and a list of the users under your organizational structure will be displayed on the next page. You can see which users you have already assessed (Completed) and which are available for assessment.
  2. To assess a user, select the arrow next to their name and a new box will appear with all the available skills that you can assess.

Once you assess all of the user’s skills, the assessment for this user will show up as complete on the previous page, and you will have the option to continue with the assessment of the rest of the users. Once you have completed all of the assessments, your request will also be marked as completed.
