Use the HTML Gadget on the Homepage

Within the Learning solution, you have access to an HTML gadget that allows you to add embedded or customized content to the Homepage workspace.

Navigation: UKG LearningAcademy Workspace > Academy AdminConfiguration > General > Homepage editor

Add the HTML Gadget

The Homepage Workspace is customized with various gadgets, and personalized for the various teams within your organization or roles in your hierarchy.

If you are still using the Classic Experience, all changes here affect both versions. If you are not using the Classic Experience, only the HTML Gadget has any impact on your Academy.

To set up the HTML Gadget:

  1. Decide for whom you are creating this gadget. You can either make a custom selection by using the Custom Configuration, or use the same one for all users under a Default Configuration.
  2. Click on the arrow next to the configuration. For a custom configuration, set up who should see this view under Select who will see this Homepage.
  3. Ignore all existing gadgets. Scroll down to Add Gadget.
  4. Select HTML from the list and click Add.

The HTML block gives you the option to either use it as a "what you see is what you get" editor, or to add custom HTML. To add custom HTML, which you want to do for things like embedded content, select Source and add the code.

Select Source again to save the code and see what it will look like and select the Save button to save this to the Home Page.

Show the HTML Gadget on the Mobile App

If you want the content to show up on the Mobile App as well, select Show on mobile app in the right corner. You will see that you can chose between Web and Mobile.

The mobile app will automatically copy the code from the Web tab. If you want to add different content to show on the Mobile App, select Use different text for mobile app and add either the source code or the text using the "what you see is what you get"-editor.

Ensure Mobile-Friendly Course Links on Your Academy Homepage

When adding course links to your Academy Homepage, it is important to use the correct format to ensure a seamless experience for mobile users. If standard course URLs are used, learners accessing the links from a mobile device may be redirected to their browser instead of the Schoox mobile app.

Recommended Course Link Format

To optimize the user experience, we recommend using mobile-friendly links structured as follows:

https://app.schoox.com/course/card/index.php?cid=COURSE_ID&acadId=ACADEMY_ID

Where:

  • COURSE_ID represents the unique identifier of the course.
  • ACADEMY_ID represents the unique identifier of your academy.

By using this format, users clicking on course links from a mobile device will be directed appropriately within the platform.

Find the HTML Gadget

The results of the HTML Gadget show in the Homepage workspace. If a user falls under the selection of a Custom configuration, they will see that one. Otherwise, they will see the HTML gadget as configured in the Default view for their role.
