Add Subtitles to Course Lecture Videos
Navigation: UKG Learning > Academy Workspace > Training Admin > Manage Training > Courses
- Locate and open the course.
- In the Course Panel, select Lectures.
- Locate the video you want to upload subtitles for and select Subtitles.
Note:
The Lectures option is only available for uploaded videos in internal courses. External videos, such as YouTube links, do not allow you to upload subtitles, nor do videos contained in external courses. - Select the language for the subtitles from the drop-down.
- Select Upload file. You can add subtitles in different languages, and can see which languages have already been uploaded.
Note:
- If a video file is edited so that the subtitles are visible (hardcoded), they are visible for the user when the video is playing.
- If you upload a subtitle file (.vtt, .srt) into the video, the user needs to select the CC icon (closed caption) within the video to show the subtitles. You should select the language prior to uploading.
- The subtitles are also visible when using the mobile app.
- Editing the size of the subtitles is nοt supported.
- An .srt file that contains two consecutive blank lines may not function as expected. Converting the .srt file to a .vtt may help resolve this issue.
