Fast-Forward Cannot Be Restricted on YouTube Videos

Use Case

You’ve configured your courses so that learners aren't allowed to fast-forward through video lectures.

However, users can still fast-forward through YouTube videos.

Explanation

This is expected behavior. The restriction to prevent fast-forwarding only applies to videos that you upload directly to Learning.

When you use a YouTube video in your course, the playback experience is controlled by YouTube itself. That means Learning cannot override YouTube’s playback settings or enforce restrictions like disabling the fast-forward option.

Recommendation

If restricting fast-forwarding is an important part of your learning strategy, we recommend uploading your videos directly to Learning rather than embedding them from YouTube. This ensures that your configured playback restrictions will be properly applied.
