An employee may appear in the Employees to assign list for a rule, but the training assignment is not automatically triggered.
Review these scenarios to determine whether additional action is required.
Use case overview
When you configure a training assignment rule, some employees may appear in the Employees to assign list but do not receive the assignment. This behavior typically occurs for one of the following reasons.
Case 1: Employee was forcefully unassigned and excluded
An employee may have been forcefully unassigned from the training and excluded from the rule.
When you exclude an employee in this way, the system continues to display the employee in the Employees to assign list because they meet the rule criteria. However, the system does not assign the training.
Review the employee’s assignment history to confirm whether they were previously unassigned and excluded.
Case 2: Assign now was not selected during rule creation
When you create a rule, you can select the Assign Now checkbox.
If you do not select Assign Now at the time of creation, the system does not assign training to users who already meet the rule criteria.
Instead, the system assigns training only to:
Users added after the rule is created
Users whose organizational data changes after the rule is created
This behavior ensures that assignments apply only to future qualifying changes unless you explicitly choose to assign existing matches.
If you want to assign training to users who already meet the rule criteria, select Assign Now when creating the rule.
