Resolve the "You don't have permission to preview data" message in the Leaderboards Ranking Report

Overview

When you open the Leaderboards Ranking report, you may see this message:

“You don't have permission to preview data of this report. Wrong items selected.”

This message appears when a required selection is missing. 

This job aid explains why the message appears and how to quickly load the report, especially when reviewing points or rankings.

Why this message appears

The message appears when the report does not yet know which leaderboard to display.

Before the report can load data, you must select a leaderboard. Until you do, the system cannot determine which dataset to show.

Resolve the message

Load the report:

Navigation: UKG Learning > Team Workspace > Report Builder > Create new report > Leaderboards Ranking Report

1. In the Report Options section, locate the Leaderboard drop-down list.
2. From the Leaderboard drop-down list, select a leaderboard.
3. Select CLICK HERE TO PREVIEW DATA. The report loads and displays points, rankings, and progress.

Note

Selecting a leaderboard confirms the dataset. No additional permissions are required.
