Enable Group Wall posts for sharing content

When you share content to a Group Library, the system can automatically create a post on the Group Wall to notify members. If no post appears, the behavior is typically related to a group setting rather than notifications.

Scenario

You share a file to a Group Library and expect an automated post on the Group Wall to notify members. However, no post appears, even though the Someone shared content with your group notification is enabled.

Why this happens

This behavior occurs when the Show auto-generated posts setting is disabled for the group.

Notifications and wall posts are controlled by separate settings. Even if the notification is enabled, the system does not display a wall post unless this setting is turned on.

Verify and update the group setting

Navigation: UKG Learning > Social Workspace > Groups > All Groups > select a group > Edit Group

  1. Select the Settings tab.
  2. Enable the Show auto-generated posts option.
  3. Select Save. After you enable this setting, actions such as sharing content to the Group Library trigger automated posts on the group wall.

Note:

This setting does not create posts for past actions. Only new actions generate wall posts.
